You can complete your IT Degree in 3 years with the flexibility online learning gives you. Studying 25 hours per week on average (100 hours per month) should see you successfully complete your qualification within this timeframe. Each year’s assessments must be completed and marked within each 12-month time limit. You can complete your studies after years 1, 2 or 3 with a La Trobe qualification.
Part-time study options are also available.
Course commences each month (12 start dates per year) and includes a full-time structure of four approximately 12-week semesters comprising two subjects per semester.

About this course
This course provides a generalist education in information technology (IT), and the opportunity to explore focus areas in information systems, software development, computer networks, and web development. The structure of this course enables you to combine online studies with early entry to the workforce and continuing online study. The course is applied in its focus and its options include vendor certifications that are relevant to IT industry employment.
This course has been designed with a high employability focus in the exciting world of IT. Graduates will fit roles that bridge the gap between technical and management personnel. Career opportunities include systems analyst, analyst programmer, database manager, software engineer, and strategist and systems marketer. Should you choose to exit at Diploma level (year 1), you will have entry-level skills to commence work in the IT industry at Help-desk and Web Support. If you exit at Associate Degree level (year 2), you will have additional industry certified skills.
The integration of vendor certification provides you with required industry skills to support underpinning technical knowledge.

To assess your readiness for study through Computer Power Institute, you'll need to complete our Pre-enrolment Assessment. The assessment is delivered online and is designed to gauge whether you will be able to successfully complete the course within your capabilities.
Your results will be formally communicated to you as soon as practicable after the assessment and a copy will be retained by Computer Power Institute for at least five (5) years after you enrol, which may be made available to the Commonwealth Authority on request.
